My Summary

In recent years, more and more children have been prescribed to psychotropic medications. There were certain behaviors in past generations that were considered to be normal for children to display, but are now considered as behavior problems that can be fixed with medication. No longer is it normal for a six year old to be hyper active in class, nervous to attend school in the mornings, or for these young kids to be overly shy around their peers. The increasing trend of parents allowing their children's doctor to prescribe these medications is shocking, and these parents are not fully aware of the long term effects that these medications may have on their children. Most are unaware of the capability the medications may have in causing more severe mental illnesses, chemical imbalances, and lifelong dependency. It is beginning to appear that the cure for these behavior illnesses is actually worse than some of the issues themselves.

  2. I agree. For some reason parents and doctors think that medication is the fix for everything. Sooooo wrong.
