I compare my writing to the process of creating a garden. You start with very basic materials and by combining them, you create something completely different.
If you plant the seeds to early, or too late, you will miss out on the intended outcome. Writing a paper, for me, is not a quick and effortless process. I have to pick my topic, and give it amount of time to be researched. There are many different components that go into my writing process, just like tending to a garden. I tend to my papers the way a gardener tends to their flowers, with extreme attention and care.

We need all of the facts
I have yet to decide on an actual title for my paper, but I know the direction I will be taking it in.
Behavioral medications are being overused and the information given to people about them have the tendency to be slightly altered in favor of the drugs, and individuals need to have more access to not only the benefits that these medicines can produce, but also the negative data and side effects that have been tested and recorded.
1. There are longterm health effects caused by psychotropic drugs that people are not fully aware of, and while in the process of prescribing these drugs, doctors do not take into consideration.
2. Society is changing it's opinion on what is considered "normal" behaviors more and more, and because of this, there is an increase in the unnecessary prescription.
3. Parents are pressured constantly by school officials and doctors to put their children on medication, and sometimes are led to believe that it is the only solution to the current problems their children are facing.
4. Without knowing all of the facts, is it safe to use these medications on our children during important developmental years?
There are negative drug trials that are swept under the rug, and not published for everyone to see. When you see commercials for behavioral medications, the side effects are astonishing, but what are they not revealing to us?

Do we know the whole truth?
Our society has made incredible discoveries when it comes to medicine, and over the course of history we have been able to battle illnesses in many different ways. Recently, there has become an increased dependence on behavioral medications. It is hard to pinpoint the effects that it can have on a person over time, and most of the time the negative findings when researchers test a drug are not revealed to the public. Both sides of the data should be published for the public to review, so we can make an informed decision when we (or our children) come in contact with any type of medication.

My Summary
In recent years, more and more children have been prescribed to psychotropic medications. There were certain behaviors in past generations that were considered to be normal for children to display, but are now considered as behavior problems that can be fixed with medication. No longer is it normal for a six year old to be hyper active in class, nervous to attend school in the mornings, or for these young kids to be overly shy around their peers. The increasing trend of parents allowing their children's doctor to prescribe these medications is shocking, and these parents are not fully aware of the long term effects that these medications may have on their children. Most are unaware of the capability the medications may have in causing more severe mental illnesses, chemical imbalances, and lifelong dependency. It is beginning to appear that the cure for these behavior illnesses is actually worse than some of the issues themselves.

My Topic
Hello,
The topic I have decided on is the use of behavioral medication in children. In more recent years there's been an increased amount of prescriptions given to children at a young age, and no one cares to consider the effects that it may have on them in later years. I believe that younger kids should be allowed to be children, and not be put on drugs to stiffle their hyper attitudes, which is natural to little ones. It is hard to test medications on children, and it bothers me that the parents allowing this do not think about what will happen to them down the road. There is already proof that certain drugs can cause health issues, but for most it is too late to fix. They treat it as a guessing game, and they just try out different combinations and doses until they find the right mixture that controls the "problems" that these little ones have.
